Tournament Rules And Information

Welcome to The Farmers National Bank Greatest Golfer Youngstown. Here’s an overview of the 17th year of our 54-hole tourney, Aug. 7-9.

54-Hole Tournament Overview

• This adult championship event tournament is a 54-hole cumulative scoring event with cuts after 36 holes. The top players (approx 20 pct of field) in each division will advance to the Sunday finals at The Lake Club. We have room for 300 golfers overall, and approximately 84 golfers make Sunday.
• We will attempt these divisions:
  • Mens: Open, 3-6 hcap, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19 and 20-24
  • Seniors (60+): Open, 3-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13+
  • Ladies: Open (gross scoring) and Ladies Net
• DETAILS FOR 2026:
  1. This is a 54-hole tourney with a cut after 36 holes. All scoring is Gross. Your competitive handicaps are used only to place you in a division.
  2. Earlybird entry is the 2025 rate of $189. It goes up after June 20.
  3. All Friday play will be at Mill Creek North and South Golf Course. Saturday courses are Trumbull CC, Avalon Lakes, Squaw Creek, Salem Golf Club and The Lake Club. We will announce division course assignments before July 1.
  4. New players to Greatest (and those who have not played in last 3 years) must show a handicap from structured 2025/26 golf such as a regular league, money game, travel group or tourney play where witnessed, competitive scores are kept. (5 scores minimum). Not applicable are handicaps derived largely from non-competitive play where proof of those scores is unverifiable. Players in such situations are invited to email golfergreatest@gmail.com to explain playing history for consideration.
  5. Your handicap at your home course is the preferred method to determine your division. For golfers who know the rules of indexes, you are welcome to calculate your index against Mill Creek Golf Course to choose your division. If you don't know what that means, don’t worry about it. Just sign up with your league handicap and live life to your fullest.
  6. Handicap verifications begin immediately. Your July 25 handicap is your final level for the tourney. Players are encouraged and invited to change their division through July 25 if they find their skill level has adjusted since they registered. Players are also invited to police all player entries.
